London
This city is home to millions of residents and it boasts a history rich in culture and heritage. As London is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world, the attraction to tourists is obvious. Offering such sights as Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Westminster Abbey, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy.

Manchester

Manchester is another prime location that provides a breathtaking atmosphere and unforgettable locations to visit. A few extremely popular sights include the Imperial War Museum, John Rylands Library, Whitworth Art Gallery and the massive urban district of Chinatown. While not as large as London, this does not detract from the fact that Manchester attracts innumerable visitors from all walks of life each year.

Scotland

Known for its rugged beauty and second-to-none allure, Scotland is not to be missed during any well-planned European holiday. Although the experiences to be had here are nearly limitless, there are nonetheless a few must-see destinations to enjoy. Ideas include the Scottish Highlands, Edinburgh Castle, Mary King’s Close and the mysterious Loch Ness. As Scotland is a very diverse country, it is wise to spend at least a few days here before moving on.

Although a European holiday can certainly encompass other locations, these three choices are ideal for those who may only have a few days away before having to return to work. By possessing an accurate itinerary and understanding which areas are the most desirable to visit, even a short respite from the real world will prove relaxing and rewarding .

  1. London definitely goes on the bucket list. It seems like such a sophisticated place to visit with lots of culture and tradition.

  2. I have never been to the UK but would love to go someday it looks and sounds like such an amazing place to vacation.

  3. So funny to read about this from outside of the UK. All these places are great to visit – although I’m not sure I’d choose Manchester as a top 3 choice. There’s so much more interesting historical places in York, Chester, Lincoln and Stratford, although Manchester’s definitely a buzzing place if you’re after a huge city

  4. Wish I could go to Europe and definitely will visit all these places.. A pretty romantic place LONDON is my first stop if ever! 🙂

  5. If I could go to Europe I would like to visit the hometowns of my ancestors. My Grandparents on my Mom side I would go to Palermo, Sicily and see if I had any relatives still there. Then my Grandfather on dad’s side was born in London, and my Grandmother was born in Dusseldorf, Germany. Such sites to see. I would also love to see Rome, and visit the Vatican. What a dream vacation that would be.

  6. If only I have the budget to treat my family to a tour in Europe, I would bring them to the places posted here. Manchester is a dream location in my bucket list. (I don’t like traveling alone because it’s sad.)

  7. I’d LOVE to visit Scotland, Ireland, Italy and Slovak Republic where my family is from. I have friends in the UK and I’d love to visit them also!

  8. They would all be great places to go on vacation. One day I will make it to Scotland and other parts of Europe.

  9. I would love to visit these places and countries some day. I am thinking when my children are grown me and my husband will travel more.

  10. I haven’t been to Europe yet. I have family living there who keeps inviting. Maybe in next few years.
