One of the lovely places we visited in Ningxia is the Muslim Village where we got to meet the chief of the Muslim village and his family and some neighbors. Also, the wife of the chief of the Muslim village was happy to see us and taught us how to make and cook some local snacks.
Walking around the Muslim village we’ve met some local Muslim Hui people who were in their mosque as it was about their prayer time. They were very friendly and welcoming and the smiles were all the way. They were very happy to see us there and even tried to make some conversations even though we know we can’t understand each other, thanks to ihr tour guides who translates for us.
Visiting their local mosque is quite a nice feeling, we get to see them in action on how they start their prayers until they’re finished, they were so nice that they let us take some photos of the inside of their mosque during the prayer, but I only managed to snap 1 photo as I feel kind of rude if I won’t respect their privacy when praying even though they gave us permission which is very nice of them.
After visiting the mosque, we went back to the Muslim chiefs house and he introduced us to his wife who taught us how to make and cook local snacks. Just a few simple bread ingredients to make their snacks and they fried them and tadaaa!! We have a yummy snack that we all ate and enjoyed on the table with some baobao tea which the Muslim chief gave us a demonstration on how to properly drink it.
We ended our day with some few more food for dinner and went back to Xifujing Hotel that night to rest and sleep and be prepared for the next day.
