Flavours of Pinas Filipino themed Buffet at C.Taste Centro Barsha Hotel

Centro Barsha Hotel: Never in my life that I won’t choose filipino food over anything else. I’m from the Philippines and all the filipino food cravings is just as strong since I left The Philippines.

When I was in Malaysia 3 years ago, I had to go for miles away just to get all the filipino dishes I can get, even if I can cook them most of the ingredients can only be bought in Kota Raya Plaza which is the Filipino Mall in Kuala Lumpur like Lucky Plaza in Singapore.

Good news is! I now live in Dubai and if you haven’t been here yet, Everywhere you go in Dubai, There is Filipino food. One of the places I want to recommend is CENTRO BARSHA Hotel. It is just walking distance to Sharaf DG Metro Station and easy access if you’re around Mall of the Emirates too or anywhere in Barsha.

FOOD:  Coming to this place for dinner, I expected all the filipino dishes I really miss. You’ll be surprised if I tell you right now that I don’t eat filipino food everyday. Coming to this dinner, I did look and check all of the filipino food they have in store for me that night and for everyone kabayans or filipino who will be eating there. From the main dishes and desserts, everything looks nice and was so excited to try and taste them right away.

So we Sat, and took my big plate and scoop all the filipino main dishes they served that night. That night, They had Spring rolls, Pancit, Pinakbet, Sweet & Sour Fish, Beef Kare Kare, Chicken Adobo, Milkfish or Bangus, From the Barbeque Grill Enjoy the chicken feet, Liver and Gizzards which are one of my favorites that night too! DESSERTS: Leche Flan, Palitaw, Coffee Jelly, Maja Blanca some others are Bread pudding, some cakes and mouse for foreigners who wants to enjoy Saturday night as well. If you’re interested in SALADS: They also offer some arabic local and western food on the opposite side. You know, so both parties can enjoy the night from Filipino Kabayans and Foreigners who might they bring that night and who will drop by or staying in their hotel. Did I say that it is also Unlimited Drinks!!

I suppose that it is understandable that this night is especially for our Fellow Filipinos or Kabayans, Their night and that’s it! But let’s face the truth that Filipinos are friends with other nationalities as well, so I guess it wasn’t that bad if we mixed and throw some salads and desserts as well that cater to them so everyone is happy! =D

LOCATION: Well, you can all jump for joy my fellow Filipinos and kababayans as Centro Barsha Hotel is only walking distance from the Metro Station Sharaf DG. But if you’re anywhere around Barsha the place is very easy to reach. If you’re walking around The Mall of the emirates, You can also walk from there to Centro Barsha. C.Taste Restaurant is just on the ground floor lobby so you’ll find it right away. They also have some packages that include transportation if you book for the number of people for parties or any celebrations you might have in the future. They are a just away! So go ahead! =)

STAFF/AMBIANCE: Upon entering the C.Taste Restaurant I notice how neat and clean the place is. Well organized place where you see a clean open space upon entering. The main dishes on the left, desserts in the middle and salads on the right and Tables and Seating behind them. Staff were very welcoming. They check you every now and then and collect the used plates so you can enjoy more food at the Dinner Buffet. Ambiance of the restaurant is more fun with bright light restaurant with orange bright coloured theme. Don’t fret! if you needed more privacy and not about the bright lights at all, then they have a special place for you! Romantic and dim lights or candle light dinner is available too.

VERDICT: Being all I’ve said above was all good news, I do have some few things I’ve experience during my visit that I needed to say. Like the Pinakbet veggies was still quite hard when I was eating it. We all could agree that there’s a fine line if the veggies is half cooked and hard to chew right? The next one is the Beef Kare Kare. I was kind of disappointed they called it Kare kare when by just looking at it, it was not kare-kare at all. Because it wasn’t peanut-ty at all there’s not one bit of Peanut taste at all. Also maybe they shouldn’t translate Beef kare-kare as Beef Curry because I believe it is both a different dish. As per the dish that night, they can call it Beef Curry instead but not kare-kare at all. Those are just my two cents about visiting that night for dinner.
