Din Tai Fung Restaurant in Pavilion KL

In 1970, Bingyi Yang, the founder of Din Tai Fung started his business selling cooking oil in a small shop. The name Din Tai Fung was a combination of two other shop names. One was Din Mei Oils where Yang bought his oil from. The other was Heng Tai Fung, a shop where Yang began working in when he first arrived from China. Din Tai Fung Restaurant is located at 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang, Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur inside Pavillion Shopping Mall Lot 6.01.05, Level 6. Tel: 03-2148 8292. Business Hour : 10am-10pm.

Been to this restaurant few months ago with my family. We were feeling hungry that time and craved for some famous signature dishes they serve like Xiao Long Bao, Dumplings, Fried Rice and Noodles. As you can see the photos above we ordered are some of the few famous foods they have.

The service was just ok for me. The place was full when we got there and all the crew working there were multi- tasking.  They would pick up each of the plates that were empty or finish on our table, Which is good actually since they have a long queue outside so they were trying to clean up the tables one at a time as they can. But some times I can’t enjoy my food when I know that there are people waiting for my plate/s. It feels like not enjoyable at all eating when some one is looking. Also we ordered a a plate of side veggie which we cancelled because it was too late then before they can serve it to us, we were already done with most of the foods and full at the same time. Some how maybe they overlook the order so we just cancelled it instead. Checking the foods you ordered is a must!

The foods are nice & yummy. But it didn’t hit my tastebuds that much and that is only base on my opinion and my husbands thinks the same way too. It is nice and filling, presentable and I love that I can see how they make them too with their see-through kitchen! Though I felt that it need some additional spice to it to satisfy my cravings hehe =P Or maybe xiaolong bao’s and dumplings should really taste as how the way they do it Since it is a famous Restaurant. Remember I don’t eat dumplings or xiaolong bao’s like most of the people who usually have it everyday so that is only my opinion. I have to soak them to a chilli sauce and they tasted perfect for me, my sister & my husband too. The fried rice & spring roll are both really good! =)

The place is very clean and well organise. They even have this cute side little basket to put your stuffs/bags in it so you can eat properly without putting it on your lap or on the floor! Now that’s amazing! The place is family friendly and good for all ages! Even when you are doing business this is a very nice place to sit with your business partner or to celebrate something or to catch up with your friends. The ambiance is just perfect specially if you will get the seat on the corner parts. I would probably go back here to try it some more. Will recommend to my friends if ever. Till next time! x0~
