Char Koay Teow (Fried Noodles)

This rich and taste filled concoction will surely leave you wanting more.
The Oyster Omelette is a culinary delight amongst street foods in Penang and is loved by those who don’t even favour oysters. The oysters are fried in an egg and rice flour batter (to make it nice and crispy) with chives. It is then eaten by dipping it in a spicy chili or garlic sauce. One bite and you will be able to taste the burst of flavours in this fluffy omelette.
Curry Mee (spicy Coconut Noodle Soup)
This dish is a soup formed with a combination of curry and coconut milk, usually eaten with yellow noodles or vermicelli accompanied by fried bean curd, cockles, prawns, cuttlefish, and bean sprouts. The coconut milk in the curry makes it a perfect combination of spicy but not the kind that tears your tongue apart but the kind that makes you day a whole lot better.
Crispy Duck with Rice
With the Chinese having such influence in Malaysia there is no surprise that Crispy Duck is on the menu everywhere. And it’s a serving of delicious. The duck is basted in a sweet and spicy sauce and often served alongside boiled rice and chives. Look out for places that hang multiple ducks in the window with a line, a sure sign that the restaurant is popular.
Asam Laksa (Rice Noodles in fishy Soup)
In Penang, this would be its most famous dish and you wouldn’t believe it but is rated 7/100 in the world’s top food. Once you taste it, you won’t deny it. Asam Laksa is a rich-based noodle soup eaten with think rice noodles, herbal broth, chili paste, lemongrass, shrimp paste and mackerel. The base is made from tamarind so it packs a whole lot of sour taste to it, so be ready to be awaken.
