The Dubai Frame – Things to do in Dubai
Before I started this blog post about my experience below are some of THE DUBAI FRAME – FACTS:
◆ The frame measures 150 meters high and 93 meters wide.
◆ The two towers are connected by a 100-square-meter bridge, which has a 25-square-meter glass panel in the middle offering a great 360-degree view.
◆ It was designed by award-winning architect Fernando Donis, who also designed Dubai’s Porsche Design Towers, and the Dubai Renaissance Tower.
◆ The exterior design of Dubai Frame was inspired by the logo of Expo 2020.
◆ There is a museum on the ground floor that will showcase Dubai’s transformation from fishing village to metropolis.
◆ It is predicted the frame will become a major tourist destination in the city, like the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab.
◆ The project is worth Dhs160 million.
Online Ticket booking is not yet available on their website, So we went early in the morning and started lining up. I suggest you come early in the morning so you won’t have to queue for so long and also Tickets get SOLD OUT so better come early in the morning. Going inside the Dubai Frame is like going inside the airport with all the strict rules you need to follow. Going in you need to go in checkpoint security like in the airports hehe then go up to the second floor and go in this room that looks like Dubai Al Fahidi museum, It is a short walk to go to the elevator and photos are not allowed and when they said that photos/videos are not allowed it is NOT really allowed. There are lots of security inside that will tell you to not take photos/videos. WATCH THE VIDEO below to see the view of The Dubai Frame from outside.
After that short walk, You’ll end in the elevator where you can start taking photos/videos of your trip going up The Dubai Frame as the elevator is Glass and you can see the view outside. At the top of The Dubai Frame is where you can take photos/videos and see the New and Old Dubai which is the concept of the Dubai Frame in the first place.
You can enjoy and walk through the Glass Walkway which is By the way not that scary haha So Go Ahead & have fun! But unlike the Clear Glass Box in Malaysia that was scary! CLICK ME to see the photo or CLICK ME to watch the video. Don’t forget to Instagram it! Also, You are Not allowed to sit or lay down on the Glass walkway to take selfies But you can kneel and walk take photos/videos all you want. WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW & see me walking on the glass walkway.
After that fun experience, Security will tell everyone to go to the elevator to exit the place to watch the Future of Dubai Video on the 1st floor (photos/videos not allowed there), also to give way to the next group of people who will be entering the Dubai Frame so it is not overcrowded. After the quick show, you’ll exit the place to the souvenir shop, then go out of the Dubai Frame Building.
